An editor's note

The venue needs to work as beautifully as it looks.

A good Marrakech wedding feels effortless to the guests. Behind the scenes, someone has thought about shade during the ceremony, the walk from dinner to dancing, late airport arrivals and a genuine plan for wind or rain.

We focus on those decisions, from a private estate to a medina riad or a palace hotel. Start with the experience; use the checklist before you commit.

Start with the experience, then choose the venue

A destination wedding may be a one-night celebration, a weekend with welcome dinner and brunch, or a larger itinerary. The format changes everything: accommodation, catering, transfers, music and the hours available for each event.

Before making a booking

Ask for the seated event capacity separately from the number of bedrooms. Check whether the space is genuinely exclusive and whether outside suppliers are permitted. Obtain written confirmation of music hours, a credible bad-weather alternative, VAT and service charges, and any cancellation conditions.

For a detailed venue-by-venue comparison, begin with the venue pricing guide and the venue selection checklist.

Continue your research

Different wedding formats require different services. Compare the total cost for the same guest list, dates and number of meals, and confirm details with each venue directly.
