Compare the format, not only the headline number
| Venue type | Typical quotation structure | Public rate verified? |
|---|---|---|
| Exclusive private estate | Fixed hire and lodging plus catering and production | Varies by property and programme; request an itemised quotation. |
| Royal Mansour / La Mamounia palace | Bespoke hospitality and event proposal | Quote required; no unverified estimate |
| Resort villas: Mandarin Oriental / Oberoi | Villa booking separated from authorised events | Quote required |
| Medina riad | Room or riad buy-out plus meals | Varies by venue |
| Agafay desert camp | Menu, transfers, shelter and technical production | Varies by camp |
Why rates differ
A palace may quote a banquet and a room block separately, while a private villa may rent out the whole estate for several nights. A desert operator may quote per-person dining and additional event infrastructure. Unless the same activities and inclusions are costed, the totals cannot be compared responsibly.
Ask every venue for the same programme
For example: 60 guests, welcome dinner, wedding ceremony and evening reception, next-day brunch, three days on site, photo/video, DJ, lighting and guest transport. Ask for accommodation, taxes, minimum consumption and cancellation terms on separate lines.
How to verify a quoted price
Ask the selected venue to provide a dated written quotation specifying each included item, applicable taxes and restrictions. Where a comparable current price is not published, this guide does not invent one. See also the full budget guide.
